northwest

I attempted ballet. Tennis. Softball. Violin. By the time I got around to the idea of wanting to drive a golf cart, my mom said, Absolutely not. And you know what, Mom? I turned out JUST FINE. But I will tell you, this idea of letting North West paint an Hermes goes above and beyond of my wildest dreams.

Watch me paint something that’s literally thousands of dollars, Ma! (Oh, and prepare me to bail me outta jail when it happens.)

beyonce

Beyonce posted this picture on Insta last week of her posing next to a portrait of Françoise Gilet, Picasso’s lover, muse, and baby mama. Needless to say, I want both of these women’s voluminous hair.

Manet’s “Spring” fetched a whopping $65 million at auction last week. Turns out the buyer was the Getty. “Spring” was meant part of a series of women representing the seasons, but Manet only completed “Spring” and “Autumn” before he died in 1883.

Spring’s way hotter.

dog sweaters

I have made complete peace with stores wanting me to celebrate Christmas a solid three weeks before Thanksgiving. I will go ahead and say that Omar wants all of these this year.

This one has a toggle AND an American flag on the back!

Perhaps the best part is these are all Ralph Lauren, and retail for about $95. Home Sale knocks 30% off though, so they’re a STEAL.

Life being what it is, one dreams of revenge.  – Paul Gauguin

Hmm…wait a minute. This is something that doesn’t actually make me sick to my stomach thinking about when I refer to Paul Gauguin. I mean, WHO KNOWS what the man is referring to in this situation, but I barely care! Revenge, huh? I mean, I plot my revenge all the time.

BTW, Paul, this by no stretch of the imagination makes us friends.

Yes. Just, yes. Three cheers to Allison L. Wade for making the break up text a true work of art. Visit the Rick Wester Fine Art Gallery to see the rest of the exhibition, “It’s Not You.”

election day

Happy Election Day, America! Get out there and perform your civic duty.

Norman Rockwell’s “The Losing Candidate” was featured on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post on November 8, 1958. The model is actually Bernard Casey of Boston, who served 8 terms in the state legislature. The man with the cigar on the right lived in Rockwell’s town of Stockbridge, MA, where he delivered the mail for more than fifty years.
